There was plenty of HEART at nANA jUDY MBFWA onsite closing show.

There's always something a little special about the opening and closing shows of Australian Fashion week, whether it be on-site or off-site productions.

This year I was once again fortunate enough to go behind the scenes at the last show onsite which was nANA jUDY in The Tent. With the Melbourne based label been absent at last years RAFW it was time for Coleman's label to make a standout return with the showcasing of the women's line called HEART by nANA jUDY alongside the labels mens line. An edgy and raw underground vibe was reflected at the show with the band Amy Meredith rocking it out as models powered down the runway thanks to Adelaide's Filip Odzak's choreography.

Miss Unkon. The Life Between SS 2012/13

Following trend of a lot of other designers of the up & coming Spring Summer season, Miss Unkon stayed safe with an all too familiar sorbet palette. It was the embroidery and minimalist sheer layering that kept the collection interesting and probably saved it. Even the setting in the Theatre was a departure from Miss Unkon's previous two years shows of real theatre. It wasn't merely enough to have strobe lights at the beginning of the show, which seemed irrelevant to the collections message. Maybe Miss Unkon's SS 12012/13 was the life between adding a new wow factor to the collection.

BOWIE "AURA" 2012/13 Collection

Bowie's 2012/13 Collection titled Aura sounds a little mystical and the collection is just that. It is the mix of textures and detailing that make each collection so unique and almost unearthly. Aura, symbolising the closest thing to light, was translated throughout the collection in crisp and floating white fabrics as well as gold and silver. The models hair resembled that of an angel, which matched the steady pace of the show along with a orchestral soundtrack.

The use of feathers, beading, sequins, silver & gold embellishments make for Bowies standout couture, it is only when you get to see the clothes up close you realise the actual intricate detail.

The new seasons collection also showcases several styles of shoes in both black and tan which will be launched officially in the coming year. Special thanks to Jess and the team at Bowie for the backstage pass and most of all Bowie for creating another unforgettable collection.
